FINANCIALS & REVENUE

PGL’s CS2 TIER 1 Program for 2027 and 2028 is built around at least six Tier 1 events per year and includes a structured financial model that rewards both competitive performance and ecosystem contribution, with a robust financial structure that allocates at least $11,000,000 USD annually*: $6M distributed to teams and players based on their events performances (full VRS impact) + $2,2M VRS invite bonus + $2,8M annually viewership incentive (distributed anually).

Total Winnings per event (2027 & 2028)

For each calendar year, PGL will provide a guaranteed player compensation to reward elite performance:

  • Total Prize Money for players: $3,000,000 USD per year.
  • Total Club Reward: $3,000,000 USD per year.
  • Distribution: Awarded based on each event’s performance.

Additional Team Revenue (2027 & 2028)

In addition to total winnings, PGL provides a comprehensive compensation package to support participating organizations:

  • Total Team Revenue:$5,000,000 USD per year:
    • $2,2M VRS invite bonus
    • $2,8M annually viewership incentive (distributed annually).
  • Structure: This is separate from prize money and is designed to support teams through three distinct revenue streams.

*This also applies to 2028, when we are exploring adding additional events to the calendar.

How Team Revenue Works

The annual $5,000,000 USD is split into the following three strategic components:

1. Club Share (Performance)

Each tournament includes a guaranteed financial share for participating teams:

  • Per Event: $500,000 USD Club Share pool.
  • Annual Total: $3,000,000 USD (6 events × $500,000).
  • Details: Distributed to participating teams based on final event placement.

2. VRS Invite Bonus (Participation Reward)

To reward the world’s top-ranked competitors, each event includes:

  • $400,000 USD VRS Invite Bonus pool (4 events per year)
  • $300,000 USD VRS Invite Bonus pool (2 events per year)
  • Payout: Distributed to the Top 5 VRS-ranked teams that accept their invite.
  • Eligibility: If a Top 5 team declines, the bonus passes to the next eligible team (up to the Top 12). Undistributed funds are added to the Annual Viewership Incentive.

3. Annual Viewership Incentive (Performance + Audience Impact)

PGL rewards the teams that drive engagement and growth for the ecosystem:

  • Annual Pool: $2,800,000 USD.
  • Measurement: Points are awarded to the Top 12 teams at each tournament based on average cumulative viewership (CCV).
  • Top 1–4 CCV: 8 Points
  • Top 5–8 CCV: 4 Points
  • Top 9–12 CCV: 2 Points
  • The Multiplier: Total points are multiplied by the number of PGL TIER 1 events attended.
  • Eligibility: The Top 16 teams in the annual ranking receive a share of the $2.8M pool.

This multi-layered structure ensures that teams are rewarded not only for winning but also for consistency, participation, and their contribution to the overall growth of the ecosystem. The model reinforces competitive integrity while encouraging teams to engage their global fanbases throughout the season actively.

TRANSPARENCY & REPORTING

PGL is committed to full transparency. Within 30 days of the conclusion of each tournament, PGL will publish:
