Medieval Frontiers Hits 100,000 Steam Wishlists Milestone
Medieval Frontiers Hits 100,000 Steam Wishlists Milestone – First-Person Colony Sim Captivates the Community
Active Fungus Studios, the development team behind Medieval Frontiers, is thrilled to announce that their upcoming first-person survival and town management title has officially surpassed 100,000 wishlists on Steam. This significant milestone highlights the massive interest in the game’s unique blend of deep management simulation and immersive first-person survival.
In Medieval Frontiers, players step into the shoes of a survivor whose village has been burned to the ground. In a remote, wild valley, you must establish a new settlement, manage resources, and locate lost survivors in the wilderness to provide them with a new home.
”Reaching 100,000 wishlists is overwhelming proof of the community’s trust in our vision of an authentic medieval simulation,” says Jakob Braun, Producer and Game Design Lead. ”Our goal is to combine the complexity of colony sims like Rimworld with the immersion of a first-person adventure.”
Unique Features of Medieval Frontiers:
- Authentic Social Simulation: Manage up to 20 individual NPCs, each with their own voices, personality traits, and complex needs such as social interaction, relaxation, and entertainment. Their morale directly determines the productivity of your village.
- Innovative Resilience System: Health in Medieval Frontiers is more than just a bar. The resilience of the player character and the villagers drops due to cold, hunger, injury, or insect plagues. Every night, a ”skill check” is rolled against this value to determine if a character falls ill—requiring targeted medical care with teas and elixirs.
- Freedom in Village Building: In Medieval Frontiers, the workbenches you place determine a building’s actual function. A simple workhouse only becomes a weaving mill or an alchemy lab once it is properly equipped. Decorations offer additional strategic depth: numerous small assets are not just for visual flair; they act as functional expansions that permanently increase the efficiency of workbenches in the same room through buffs. For example, an additional anvil significantly speeds up work processes in the smithy.
- Dangerous Exploration: The vast valley challenges pioneers with increasingly hostile regions—from insect-infested swamps to wild animals and icy mountain peaks. To survive these areas, constant progress is essential: specialized clothing and improved tools protect against environmental hazards and maintain vital resilience to prevent disease. Only those who optimize their equipment can push deeper into the wilderness to recover rare resources and rescue more survivors for their settlement.
The release of Medieval Frontiers is planned for the second quarter of 2026 on Steam/PC. The game will offer various difficulty levels, ranging from ”Survival” to ”Cozy.”
Interested players can add Medieval Frontiers to their Steam Wishlist now to stay updated on development and the upcoming launch.
