Spectre Divide and its developer are shutting down

“We pursued every avenue to keep going, including finding a publisher, additional investment, and/or an acquisition,” Mountaintop says. “In the end, we weren’t able to make it work. The industry is in a tough spot right now.”
Spectre Divide, a free-to-play shooter similar to Valorant where players control two characters simultaneously, is shutting down just months after its launch in September.
Spectre Divide had a strong start with notable founders, including popular streamers like TimTheTatman and Shroud. However, despite their involvement and the game’s solid foundation and appealing visuals, it faced significant challenges. Issues such as hacking, server instability, and other technical problems hindered its potential success. Although both Shroud and TimTheTatman played the game extensively, it wasn’t enough to save it from its eventual shutdown.
This is just one of many games that have been shut down prematurely, and unfortunately, more are likely to follow.
