DreamHack is coming to Stockholm in November 2024. The world’s largest gaming and cultural festival to the world’s foremost gaming city, to the largest exhibition facility in the Nordic region. – DreamHack Stockholm will be our largest festival ever, says Shahin Zarrabi, VP of Festivals EFG.
DreamHack is the world’s largest gaming and cultural festival. In November 2024, the festival, along with festival partner Elgiganten, is coming to Stockholm and Stockholmsmässan. As part of the ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), DreamHack has already established itself worldwide. International gaming hubs like Atlanta, Dallas, Melbourne, and Tokyo all host DreamHack’s fantastic festivals. Stockholm is one of the world’s leading cities in gaming – now with DreamHack Stockholm as the highlight of the year.
– Bringing DreamHack to Stockholm is special for me personally. Gaming belongs in Stockholm, and we want to contribute to and develop the unique culture that makes the gaming world in the city so special. From creators and amazing cosplay artists to the latest games, products, and the best esports. We are building a platform for everyone,” says Shahin Zarrabi, VP of Festivals at ESL FACEIT Group.
Stockholm has become the gaming capital of Scandinavia. The Stockholm region is considered one of the foremost European regions for game development, with everything from leading AAA-development to mobile games and indie developers present in the city. Moreover, there are more game developers per capita here than in any other city. The Swedish gaming miracle is a globally recognized phenomenon that has resulted in iconic titles such as Minecraft, Battlefield, and Candy Crush. The world’s largest gaming and cultural festival will be hosted at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö, Stockholm – the largest exhibition facility in the Nordic region.
– I am very pleased to welcome DreamHack to Stockholm in 2024. DreamHack’s efforts to bring gamers together from different parts of the world promote cultural exchange and entrepreneurship. The festival holds great significance for Stockholm and strengthens the city’s central role in the global gaming world. We have more game developers per capita than anywhere else in the world and are a creative hotspot where esports, technology, music, and fashion converge. This is an important step in enhancing Stockholm’s reputation as a welcoming and progressive hub for the gaming industry,” says Staffan Ingvarsson, CEO of Stockholm Business Region.
– We are incredibly excited to host DreamHack at Stockholmsmässan in November next year. Being the venue for a festival that ignites the interest of youth in gaming and esports is significant, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to welcome not only those already interested in gaming but also to welcome and generate interest for new participants. As esports and gaming as live events grow globally and in Sweden, we are pleased to welcome such a festival to Stockholm and Stockholmsmässan,” says Christian Clemens, CEO of Stockholmsmässan.
– Our multi-year partnership with DreamHack is one of our most important investments in the gaming community. It’s also a partnership that we are passionate about. Gaming brings people together, and with the new festival in Stockholm, it becomes even easier for people to gather and enjoy the fantastic experience that DreamHack has to offer. We look forward to DreamHack Stockholm 2024 and will do our best to take the festival to the next level together with the EFG team,” says Alexander Åberg, Gaming Manager at Elgiganten.

DreamHack is proud of its Swedish heritage and has held its two largest festivals in Jönköping for 22 years.
