Clutch Looks Promising, But One Thing Concerns Me -

Clutch is a new game currently in development by Maverick Games, a newly established studio made up of former developers from Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios, the teams behind the Forza series.

A recently released video has sparked plenty of discussion and speculation. Will Clutch become a serious competitor to the Forza franchise, or is it leaning more towards the style of Need for Speed?

Personally, I’m keeping my expectations in check, but the game does promise some interesting features. One aspect that stands out is its more realistic approach to vehicle presentation, with greater attention to detail, including wear and tear that affects not only the exterior but also the interior of the cars.

My main concern comes from the part of the trailer that appears to take a more ”Need for Speed”-inspired direction, where you play as a driver trying to fund their racing career while being chased by the police. That element could end up feeling a bit over-the-top if it’s not handled well.

Only time will tell, but it’s always exciting to see new racing games and fresh ideas entering what is already a very crowded segment of the gaming industry.
