Borderlands 4 is in active development, confirms Take-two
Take-two Interactive confirmed in their press release that they are ”in active development” of the next instalment of the Borderlands franchise.
It is too soon to reveal any other details. According to Randy Pitchford, co-founder and CEO of Gearbox, it is not time yet, but it is ”the Best Thing We’ve Ever Done”.
The Swedish company Embracer owned Gearbox which has developed the Borderlands series.
Take-two Interactive had publishing rights to the franchise up until now, along with Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
Embracer sold Gearbox to Take-Two which now grants the latter full ownership of the Intellectual Properties of these franchises along with Homeworld, Risk of Rain, Brothers in Arms, Duke Nukem and all the future games that are planned or under production.
