At Gamescom 2024, we had the opportunity to play Spacemarine 2 and also had the chance to interview Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits.

I had the opportunity to play Spacemarine 2, and this time I chose PVE instead of the campaign I had previously played.
PVE in Spacemarine 2 is quite interestingly designed. You complete missions and solve various situations in the campaign, but horde mode or PVE mode has always been somewhat disconnected from the main campaign. That’s not the case now—in PVE, you start all missions from a panel in your HQ. After selecting a mission, you choose your arsenal and assemble your Spacemarine. This is done from another panel, where you can also choose different marines such as Vanguards, tanks, etc. Once you’re ready, you simply start the mission.

The missions are linked to the campaign, and while completing them, you’ll receive both audio recordings and visual cues that connect what you’re doing now with what’s happening in the campaign—all to create a more complete experience.
