gamescom award 2024: The nominees have been determined!

The nominees for the gamescom awards 2024 have been announced: The jury, composed of German and international games journalists and creators, has selected the most promising titles from a large number of submissions. The top favorites are Little Nightmares 3 by Bandai Namco Entertainment and Dune: Awakening by Funcom, each with four nominations. Star Wars Outlaws by Ubisoft is nominated in three categories. Additionally, 11bit Studios is competing with three titles—The Alters, Creatures of Ava, and Frostpunk 2—as is Bandai Namco Entertainment with Little Nightmares 3, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, and Unknown 9: Awakening.

This year, the gamescom award will be presented in a total of 15 categories. Fans and visitors of gamescom will have the opportunity to vote alongside the award’s expert jury to determine who will receive the coveted trophies. Voting kicks off on Wednesday, August 21. Fans and visitors can cast their votes for their favorites in the Arts and Platform categories, as well as the categories ”Best of Show Floor” and ”Best Trailer/Announcement,” until Thursday, August 22, at 2:00 p. m, (CEST) on www.gamescom.global/en or on-site via QR code.

During gamescom: Opening Night Live, the winner in the sustainability award category will already be announced. All other winners will be honored at the gamescom award show on Friday, August 23rd, from 2:00to 5:00 p.m. (CEST) at the gamescom studio hosted by IGN (Hall 7).

Evaluation criteria include how the organization approaches carbon accounting and emission reductions, as well as how it collaborates with external parties such as suppliers. All exhibitors at gamescom can apply for this category free of charge.
