Apeks Valorant Documentary Unveils the Untold Story of Norway’s Underdog Esports Team on
Their Journey to VCT EMEA 2025
Oslo, Wednesday 15 Jan: Apeks is thrilled to unveil the 2024 Apeks Valorant Documentary, a
project that captures their journey over a year of challenge and change.
From the start of 2024, videographer Håkon Mæland was embedded with the Apeks
VALORANT team, chronicling every step of their quest to secure the coveted spot in VCT
EMEA 2025. This documentary provides an intimate look at the dedication, challenges, and
camaraderie that have defined Apeks’ path, culminating in the high-stakes showdown of VCT
EMEA Ascension 2024.
Apeks’ journey is a true underdog story. Without the international fame and resources of top
teams like Fnatic or Sentinels, Apeks has consistently managed to punch above their weight
and cause upsets at international VALORANT tournaments.
The documentary is also an effort to improve Norwegian representation in both the VALORANT,
and wider esports scene. Norway isn’t traditionally seen as an esports powerhouse, but by
showing the international success of a scrappy Norwegian esports team, Apeks hopes to inspire
more Norwegian talent to pursue careers in VALORANT.
Apeks founder and COO Anders Kjær said: “As a smaller organization, we pride ourselves on
giving our fans a more intimate look into our team’s experience. Through the lens of this
documentary, we shine a spotlight on the incredible efforts and growth of our players and staff
through all the highs and lows of 2024. Now, with a roster we believe in and a clear vision for
success, our goal for 2025 is straightforward: to defend our position in the VCT. We are ready to
face the challenges ahead and aim to continue making Apeks a force to be reckoned with in the
Valorant scene.”
Markus Gür, Brand Management Supervisor at Riot Games commented: “Apek’s journey to
VCT EMEA has been incredible to follow. This is the first time an organization in Norway, or any
of the Nordics has reached this highest level of play, and the documentary tells the exciting
story of their path to reach this point. The Nordic VALORANT scene has grown a lot over the
last few years, and we’re confident it will only continue to do so.”
The 2024 Apeks VALORANT Documentary premiered at Eldorado in Oslo on January 8th and
is available to stream on the Apeks Valorant YouTube channel HERE.
Tune in to VCT EMEA kickoff on January 15th and watch APEKS play their first match on
