Korean Psychological Horror Game The Alley launches on Steam on July 24

Developer AIXLAB, publisher Smilegate, and co-publisher Thermite Games announce that The Alley, a first-person psychological horror game set in the maze-like backstreets of Korea, will launch on Steam on July 24, 2026. Since the demo’s release, the game has been well received by players both online and at live events for its atmospheric tension, immersive sound design, and heart-pounding ghost chase sequences that make the experience unique in the genre.

The Alley is a game of anomaly detection and consequence. You play as Soyeon, a high school student trapped in a maze of backstreets she has walked countless times before. But now, nothing is right. Something is watching. Something is hunting. And the only tool she has is her phone.

Raise your camera. Photograph what feels wrong. Then make the call: is it a Ghost Trace, something that could not exist in the real world, or a Ghost Feint, something unsettling, but still explainable? Send your judgment by MMS and wait for a response from your grandma, an experienced Mudang. Get it right, and you will move closer to the truth. Get it wrong, and the ghost gets closer to you. Across 64 anomalies hidden in the full release, every correct identification is survival. Every mistake is a cost.

”True terror lies closer to home. In those moments when a familiar space suddenly feels alien. The walk home late at night. A dark, quiet alleyway. The eerie sensation that someone is watching you, even in a place you know so well. The Alley was built to capture that exact feeling of strangeness within the mundane.” – AIXLAB Development Team
