First ”Games From Nigeria” pavilion is headed to Gamescom 2026
Nigeria will make history at Gamescom 2026 with the launch of the country’s first-ever Games from Nigeria pavilion, a landmark initiative showcasing the creativity, innovation, and commercial potential of one of Africa’s fastest-growing games industries.
Led by Hugo Obi, Founder and CEO of Maliyo Games, the Nigerian delegation brings together leading game studios, developers, and ecosystem organisations under a single national identity to demonstrate the breadth of talent emerging from Nigeria. The initiative reflects years of work to build a globally connected games ecosystem and create new opportunities for African game creators on the international stage.
The Games From Nigeria Pavilion’s programme
Beyond showcasing games, the pavilion will host a three-day programme of presentations, live game demonstrations, developer meet-and-greets, and networking sessions designed to introduce visitors to Nigeria’s rapidly growing games ecosystem.
Highlights include an introduction to the Nigerian games industry, a showcase of games developed by the delegation, discussions on talent development and funding initiatives, and the Africa Games Industry Mixer, a networking event connecting African developers with international publishers, investors, and ecosystem partners.
Another Step Into Global Gaming For The African Games Industry
Games from Nigeria is far more than an exhibition stand, it is a statement about where our industry is today and where it is heading.
”For over a decade, we’ve worked to build studios, nurture talent, and grow an ecosystem that can compete on the global stage. Bringing Nigeria to Gamescom through a national pavilion is a proud moment, not only for our delegation but for the entire African games industry. We are excited to share our creativity, our stories, and our ambition with the world.” – Hugo Obi, Founder and CEO of Maliyo Games.
